March 23-June 26 2020 Emergency Distance Learning Period

The 2019-2020 Academic Year that started on September 9, 2019 with face-to-face learning was terminated on June 26, 2020. The distance learning model was maintained until the end of the academic year, switching to the emergency distance learning period on March 23, 2020 due to the pandemic. After the schools were closed on March 13, 2020, at Hisar School, we made a quick and efficient transition to the distance learning procedures on March 23, 2020 thanks to the digital systems and the enhanced technical infrastructure we had already been using as a natural part of our academic processes. Within the scope of this transition, we managed to migrate the entire educational ecosystem to digital environment, along with analysis, planning, and design steps, all of which we had been handling with the utmost care, and successfully carried out the implementation process.  At Hisar Schools, we are proud to have maintained 120 school days with face-to-face learning, and 65 school days and 26,328 hours with distance learning. Thanks to our students’ wide participation, we completed all the subjects and obtained each acquisition in our curriculum.

Our Goals

We aim to maintain our mission, vision and strategic plans during the distance learning period. In order to prepare our students for an ever-changing and unpredictable world, learning must be restructured to be flexible, personalized and communication-driven. That is why we treat this process, which involves developing and implementing our distance learning plans, as a unique opportunity.

In the upcoming terms, we primarily aim to adopt blended learning throughout K12 levels, extend and structure it on a sustainable basis.

Our emergency distance learning plan primarily includes staying in touch and achievement of the following targets at K12 level:

  • Making our curriculum accessible online
  • Maintaining teacher-student communication
  • Monitoring student development and providing feedback on a regular basis

Our Priorities

At Hisar Schools, we have been benefiting from information and communication technologies and transforming our education philosophy for years to prepare our students whose talents, skills and aspirations evolve with every passing day to become 21st-century leaders.

Thanks to the online tools that we provide in line with our educational philosophy and through the enhanced data processing infrastructure of our School, our students can access basic information, carry out activities and complete the preliminary preparation process without physically attending their classes. This approach transformed the learning process at Hisar from a framework where teachers would initially deliver lectures and students would be positioned as a passive audience to an ever-evolving platform whereby teachers can now extensively discuss, enrich and deepen the topics with their students.

As we continue to develop flexible, inclusive, supportive and innovative solutions in consideration of the latest circumstances, we will also keep designing the student-teacher relationship as an environment of interactive and social engagement. At the Informatics Strategies Center that we launched as part of this effort, we will structure and manage digital transformation processes and the necessary ecosystem in an integrated fashion, using resources with efficiency and sustainability within the system.
